Apple will announce new iMac at the end of October, iPads in March
25 October, 2023
There's
been some speculation whether Apple would unveil new iPads this month, but it
now seems very unlikely.
Per Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple will announce new
Mac hardware at the very end of the month - the 30th or the 31st - while new
iPads are not coming until March 2024.
Per
Gurman's report, Apple will update the 24-inch iMac with new processors and
possibly even announce an upgrade to the MacBook Pro.
It's possible that Apple
is ready to announce the M3 chip and bring it into the 14-inch and 16-inch
MacBook Pros. Of course, we could be in for an M2-refresh of the 24-inch iMac,
which only offers the M1 chip since it launched in 2021.
Gurman also says that Apple won't announce new iPad hardware this year.
Instead, it's working on a slew of models - an M2 upgrade for the iPad Air, an
iPad mini with an A15 Bionic, and a spec bump to the entry-level iPad - which
will likely happen in March next year.
Apple is
reportedly also working on the biggest revamp of the iPad since the Pro models
launched in 2018. These will likely be the OLED-equipped models, which
are on track for release in 2024.
